Disability and Equality

Our attitude towards people with disabilities is gradually changing, not least because disabled people are demanding their rights to equality, full accessibility and to dignity in their lives. This workshop aims to raise awareness of the problems faced by people with impairments, and it also aims to change the attitudes of participants when they encounter disability in their own lives and communities. Participants are introduced to the two paradigms of medical model versus the social model, and to national and international legislation regarding disability equality.
This is a two hour workshop for up to 20 participants. This topic can also be tailored to suit the needs of different groups, or expanded for those groups who would like more detailed training.
